My cousin Ellie worked in a doctor’s office. She found a lump in her breast and went to the doctor she worked for. She was told it was nothing to worry about. The lump grew and she went back to the doctor as she was very concerned. The doctor said it was nothing to worry about. A year went by and Ellie grew more and more concerned, finally she went to a different doctor. She had beast cancer. It was very advanced due to the misdiagnosis. Ellie fought a long hard battle, but the cancer was just too advanced. My cousin Ellie was a bright energetic loving wife and mother. She died way too young and the worse part is it shouldn’t have happened. My cousin Ellie represents several women and men in my family that have died from breast cancer. Several of them found the cancer on their own and the cancer did not show up in their mammograms. Lumps any lumps in someone’s breast need to be take seriously both my men and women, but especially by physicians. Their are things other than breast cancer that can cause these lumps, but cancer needs to be ruled out by tests not a doctor’s assumption.
